this morning is first lady michelle obama's visit to baltimore. she spoke to a sold out crowd at a fund-raising event at morgan state university. tv cameras weren't allowed inside that venue but those who paid to get in said the first lady got a rock star reception. >> it was beyond anything i have ever heard. i never heard anyone walk on a stage and get such an eruption of powerful love. >> some of the 2,000 supporters who packed the murphy fine arts center describe a loud and long explosion of cheers as first lady michelle obama took the stage. >> it did really erupt. she hardly could get started talking and people just wouldn't even let her stop. >> only print journalists were allowed inside, no tv cameras allowed, but supporters shared some pictures as they explained the consistent themes of the first lady's speech. most say she focussed a lot of education and health care. >> talking about students receiving aid and grants. i'm a graduating senior. i go to school on federal aid. if it wasn't for the bills that barack obama has passed, i would be unable to attend. so that was a highl

big story this morning, despite a loss last night, still no ground lost for the baltimore orioles. >> the birds dropped their first game on the west coast to the other hot team in the american league, the oakland a's. >> and the a.l. wild card leading athletics beat the o's 3-2 last night to prevent them into sole possession of first place in the a.l. east. johnny goals hit a go-ahead r.b.i. single in the fifth to back a's rookie tommy milone in an opener of the key series. the yankees lost 6-4 at home to tampa bay. >> and oakland is part of the o's grueling nine-game road trip that may have some fans in baltimore going through withdrawal. the o's winning ways drawing bigger crowds to camden yards, great for fans and businesses alike. >> orioles' fever, magic, whatever you want to call it, has taken a grip on the baltimore area and is not letting go. >> it's fabulous. it's exciting to see and there's a lot of momentum and we hope it continues. >> goodbye, home run, it's a fair ball! orioles 3, rays 2, in 14. >> after a sweep of the tampa bay rays, the orioles are now headed out we

first and race cars take over downtown baltimore. a look at the first full day of the grand prix of baltimore. 11 news saturday morning starts right now. >> you're watching wbal tv-11, live, local, late breaking. this is 11 news saturday morning. >> i'm lisa robinson. >> and i'm jennifer franciotti. we will get to our top stories in a second but we will look oue with john collins. i saw stars and a full moon. >> and scattered clouds, as well, and surprisingly, moisture from isaac is getting closer to us. yesterday it was way to the west in missouri and arkansas and moving into iowa and it was hot yesterday. today, it will be warm, a little more humid and that moisture from that storm will get closer to us. it's showing up on radar now nearby. let's look at our h.d. doppler radar. you can see that out in garrett county we are seeing shower activity and in west virginia, thunderstorm activity going on at this stage of the game. this is all sliding to the east, the initial moisture, not a major part of the forecast today but it is part of the holiday weekend forecast. i'll detail th
